A Toast to Tomorrow

Dear Friends of New Beginnings, 

I would be honored if you would join me on Thursday, November 6th for “A Toast to Tomorrow”. For the past year, it has been my privilege to serve single moms and their babies at New Beginnings. I have seen firsthand how this program blesses them and brings them closer to their Lord and Savior. 

But there are so many more mothers that we can help. Every day we receive phone calls from mothers looking for a new beginning, many of them having more than one child, and we just do not have the space to accommodate them. This is why we are building a 12-unit apartment complex. This building will have an on-site day care, counseling room, fitness center, a playground, and twelve 2-bedroom apartments.

We aim to break ground next May, 2026. In order to do that I have been tasked with raising $2 million (just a drop in the bucket). I am on fire for this mission and ministry, so I am highly motivated to make this happen.  Below you'll read testimonies from our current residents, and you will see why.

Please join me for a fun night with delicious food and drinks and help me to make this dream a reality. MEet J & C

My name is J, and C and I have been at New Beginnings for a year now. Over the course of the past year, I’ve had so much growth. I was able to complete my HSED and get my diploma. I’m going back to school to get a degree in human services. I’ve been able to budget properly and save money. I was baptized along with my son in January. I’ve gotten closer with my faith in God and he continues to guide me every day. The amount of support I’ve received since the beginning has been overwhelming at times. I’m incredibly grateful towards the staff and volunteers at New Beginnings who’ve been right along us and who continue to support us.

​I am truly grateful for being given this opportunity, especially during this important and challenging chapter of my life as a pregnant single parent. This chance means more to me than words can express --not only for my own personal growth, but also for the future I’m working hard to build for my child. Balancing everything isn’t always easy, but having this opportunity gives me hope, strength, and motivation to keep moving forward. I deeply appreciate the faith and support that has been extended to me, and I am fully committed to making the most of it for both myself and my growing family.

Meet A & K

Precious Baby K

Hi, I'm A, I am 19 years old and live here at New Beginnings with my 5 week old son, K. I have lived here in Milwaukee until I moved to Waukesha when I was 15 &  lived there for 4 years. ​

A little background about my life and to what brings me to New Beginnings: My mom decided to move to Waukesha with her girlfriend and bring her kids along with. Me and her girlfriend didn’t really have the best connection so living there wasn’t always easy for me. With them being together we became a blended family... 3 kids from my mom & 4 from her. I got kicked out at 19 for not communicating to her girlfriend about my where abouts & how much money I was making. I went to go stay with my boyfriend (the father of our son), but unfortunately it didn’t work out, so I had been house to house while pregnant until I found New Beginnings. ​

​Ruth made me feel welcome since our first meeting & when she told me I got accepted it really felt like I gotten a new beginning, headed into calmer waters after everything that happened. I am grateful to be here at New Beginnings, I am still young, but I feel like being here after coming from a toxic environment is going to help me become the woman I need to become, not only for me, but for my baby as well; he deserves a healthy mom.
