Resident Support Internship

Description

Resident Support Staff Interns will assist the single mothers and babies at New Beginnings- A Home for Mothers by being physically present in the home; interacting with residents; providing emotional, mental, and spiritual support; and assisting with group activities.

This internship opportunity is great for Psychology, Human Social Services, Education, Communicative Arts, Communication, Broad Field Social Sciences, and other majors.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

Assist staff with day-to-day operations of the Home and projects as assigned
Provide support to residents through building relationships with them
Work patiently with low-income women with perhaps challenging dispositions
Increase awareness for New Beginnings and Christian Life Resources on your college campus

Willing to work patiently with low-income women with perhaps challenging dispositions
Professional attitude and ready to be a role model
Well-spoken and well-written
Energetic, with the ability to work independently and take initiative
Motivated to spread New Beginnings’ mission
Able to make a minimum one semester commitment
Member of a WELS church preferred; strong, Christian faith required
