“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” Hebrews 6:19a
The passage from Hebrews emphasizes that we have this hope – that is, Heaven– that is going to get us through the trials of this world. We have hope in the midst of uncertainty to hold us steady. We are not chained to the sin of this world, rather, we are anchored in Christ, with the hope of eternal life in Heaven with Him. It is important to remember what John says in John 16:33: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Despite the changes we face, we can be assured that our God will never change. We will always have hope to keep us anchored in Him and not the world.
