Try to imagine when your mother was pregnant with you.  Now imagine that she has little to no resources.  Her family is not around or able to assist her through her pregnancy or to help her raise you.  Imagine that she has not been taught the proper skills to maintain a steady, well-paying job so her main sources of income are government-funded programs such as WIC and W2.  Due to her financial instability, she often moves from one friend or family member’s couch to another because she cannot afford to pay rent or a mortgage every month.

What can she do?  To whom does she turn for help?  Her options may seem pretty bleak.  The sad truth is that there are many young women right here in Milwaukee suffering from this unfortunate plight.  Every day they struggle to obtain the resources that many of us often take for granted.  God commands us to love our neighbors which means that we are to help those in need.  It is clear that these women and unborn children in our communities have a definite need.  New Beginnings is a long-term, Christian-based program that offers structure and spiritual guidance for a young mother and her new baby.  Our goal is to help our residents improve every part of their lives from their pregnancies to their educations all while strengthening their faiths and improving their walks with the Lord. 

Imagine how much a program like New Beginnings would help improve your life and development as well as the life of your mother.  Your mother is now more financially and emotionally stable and you can grow up to raise your own children in this same type of stable environment.
